1972 trat das Zweite Autonomiestatut in Kraft, das die Grundlage für den Minderheitenschutz in Südtirol bildet.
Vor 30 Jahren folgte 1992 mit der Streitbeilegung durch Österreich gegenüber Italien die formelle Beendigung des vor der UNO aufgeworfenen Südtirol-Streits.
